VDA Look Through 01/23/23 - 04/14/23!
Hello everyone! My name is Shelley Nguyen and I am a second year Cognitive Science design and interaction major! I recently switched into this major and have been enjoying my time taking these design-related courses. I have always been interested in illustration, but have never explored the different medias until I started VDA. I have dabbled with Procreate, but always strayed away from any adobe programs because they were intimidating to me. Throughout the 12 weeks of this program, I was able to grow as a designer and create fun memories with others!

Overall, my time during VDA was definitely exciting yet challenging! I got to improve as a designer and learn more about how I am while working on these design projects. Although there were many times where I was fighting demons during this program, I still was able to create designs that I am mostly proud of. Going to the hands-on meetings and talking to others have made me enjoy the process of designing even more!! Since starting VDA, I have been more accountable learning new design techniques which was also an important goal that I wanted to achieve. With my newfound knowledge, I hope I can implement the new techniques and ideas into future design projects. I also want to say thank you to the mentors for guiding us through the way and even creating this program in the first place!
